In 2007, I got this idea to make a 2D casual game. I started figuring out how should I develop this and experimented with many game development engines and frameworks like Torque, HGE, PopCap’s Sexy, PlayFirst’s Playground, PTK, etc. I finally chose to go with PopCap’s Sexy Framework for the reasons such as coding in C++, GUI widget available, resource management, etc. The downside is no official cross-platform support though there is community port to Mac.
